Howdy, ya'll!
So I'm back from the fine state of Texas, where I had the pleasure to serve as the Artist Guest of Honor for Houston's coolest convention. There was art, writing, costuming, music, gaming, a plethora of goodies that made the nerd in me drool, and a life-size cutout of Spock beaming people up to a free all-you-can-eat buffet.
Creating art is a solitary effort, so getting out of my home (and my shell) now and then is a welcome change, and a way for me to truly replenish my reserves of inspiration and creativity. It's especially fun to share tricks of the trade with aspiring artists and fans, which I did during a two-hour live drawing demo. The resulting piece was a big hit at the charity auction:
I didn't get to participate in as many panels as I would've liked, but what I did take part in was fun, educational, and memorable. So, if you were there, it was a real pleasure to meet you, and if you weren't, maybe next time.
In other news, there's a pile of unfinished projects sitting in the corner demanding attention. I better see to them.
